DIY Neighborhoods: Creating the Place YOU Want to Live
“Someone ought to...”
Gone are the days when government is going to come in and make the small additions and repairs that improve your neighborhood. Livable Memphis is here to help you DO-IT-YOURSELF.
There are lots of little (and not so little) things you can do to make change in your neighborhood, so think SMALL for big improvements in your and your neighbors' quality of life. At the 2014 Livable Memphis Summit, you will learn about:
Creative Placemaking – using art to make our spaces lively. Got an artistic idea for that blank wall or vacant lot?
Tactical Urbanism – stealth techniques for making your neighborhood better. Sometimes we need to roll up our sleeves to improve the physical infrastructure of our places.
Neighborsourcing – How can we each utilize our specific skills and resources to make our neighborhoods safer, easier and more fun? What kinds of social infrastructure can we create together?
Come to the 2014 Livable Memphis Summit. You'll find unimagined possibilities for improving your neighborhood and take home the nuts-and-bolts of getting your project idea developed, funded, and done. YES, you can do it! Livable Memphis is here to help!
